In Arkansas, a medical marijuana registry identification card is typically valid for one year from the date of issuance, though a physician may occasionally designate a shorter period based on their medical assessment. To maintain continuous legal access to dispensaries, you must renew your card annually by submitting a new application to the Arkansas Department of Health. This process requires a current physician’s written certification, as certifications from previous years are not valid for renewal. It is recommended that you initiate the renewal process at least 30 days before your current card expires to allow for the standard 14-day processing period, although the state permits submissions up to 60 days in advance. Each renewal entails a non-refundable $50 state application fee in addition to any costs associated with your physician’s consultation.
